Evidence Post June 2026

What targeted actions did we take to address our school’s learning focus?During the spring this year, all our classes participated in the Richmond Formative Reading Assessment (RFRA).
What gap or problem do these actions aim to address? Why was this particular strategy/action chosen? This helps us identify students who are falling below proficiency in different areas of reading comprehension.
Based on quantitative and qualitative data (including feedback from scanning), how effectively has this strategy addressed the identified gap or problem?

Early results are positive from our Spring Assessment. In comparing our Fall data to our Spring data in the area of Retelling and Summarizing, we have seen an increase in the number of students who have moved from Developing to Proficient or better on the proficiency scale. Our Fall assessment showed 43% of our students were Proficient or better in the area of Retelling and Summarizing. Our Spring data shows that we now have 64% of our students now Proficient or better in the area of Retelling and Summarizing.

How will we move forward accordingly? What adjustments do we need to make if we have or have not achieved our goals?

We will continue to look at the results to identify students who are struggling with literacy, as this comparison only focuses on one area of reading comprehension. We will continue to target and support those students and hone in on specific areas of reading, based on the data from the RFRA.
