The first day of school for the 2026-27 school year is Tuesday, September 8. 

Returning Students (excluding new Kindergartens) will attend from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. All returning students to the school will go to their last year’s teacher’s classroom. 

Students New to Grauer (excluding new Kindergartens) will attend from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Please bring your child(ren) to the school Library through the school main entrance located on the northwest end of the building (Door # 1). Once your child is greeted and checked in by a teacher, they will be placed into a class for the rest of the day. 

New Kindergarten Students will attend:

• Group A from 9:00 – 10:00AM
• Group B from 1:00 – 2:00PM  

Meet at Ms. Kolosoff’s door (Door #5) on the northeast side of the building near the swing set for arrival and dismissal. Kindergarten families please refer to the Gradual Entry schedule we sent you.  

The first day of school is a time for staff to welcome our students back, and to confirm how many students we will have enrolled for the school year. Our enrollment count on this day will assist in determining our class organization for the school year. If your child will be away, please contact our Safe Arrival Line (604-668-7890) prior to 9am or please email the office directly. 

If students arrive late, they will need to go to the front of the school and check in with Ms. Firth in the office. Parents may access the front office during the day. 

Wednesday, September 9 to Friday, September 11

All students will be temporarily assigned to a classroom for the start of the year, and where possible, will return to their last year’s teacher’s classroom. The school hours for Grade 1-7 students will be from 8:45am – 2:45pm. Kindergarten students please refer to your Gradual Entry Schedule. Please have your child bring a recess snack, re-fillable water bottle, and lunch. Please remember that our school is a NUT-FREE facility. 

 *Please note, students will not be assigned to their new classrooms and teacher for the 2026-2027 school year until the school district confirms our student numbers. We hope to have this confirmed and move into our classes for the year by the end of the day on Friday, September 11th.*
