Reflecting on Student Learning

Earlier this year in September, staff met to create a school focus on Social/Emotional Learning and how we can help build our students’ personal awareness and sense of community. As Social/Emotional Learning is part of who we are here at Grauer Elementary and something we will always prioritize, we will be looking to shift to a new focus for the 2025-2026 school year.

In June, our staff came together to review report card data from the previous school year, with a focus on literacy and numeracy. We also compared our school’s results with District-wide data to better understand how our students are progressing.

Through this review, we noticed that in some grade levels, the percentage of students who were proficient or extending in English Language Arts was approximately 10% lower than the District average. This insight is important to us, as it helps guide our planning and priorities.

Over the summer, our staff will be reflecting on these findings and considering how we can adjust our school-wide focus to better support student learning. When we return in the fall of 2025, we look forward to working together to come up with a renewed focus for our school for the 2025-2026 school year.
